Purpose:
To assess the impact, by medical record review, of modified citrus pectin (MCP) use on the prevention of metastasis in men with prostate cancer.
Further Study Details:
This study involved a chart review of prostate cancer patients. Of particular interest was the stage of prostate cancer, metastasis, types of therapy undergone, use of nutriceuticals and conventional medications. Data collected regarding MCP usage included the dose, frequency, and duration of MCP ingestion. This data was analyzed to determine what, if any, effect MCP has on the prevention of metastasis of prostate cancer.
Findings:
Insufficient data prevented the completion of this pilot study as designed.
Eligibility:
Prostate cancer patients treated at Southwestern Regional Medical Center, Midwestern Regional Medical Center, and Cancer Treatment Centers of America/Seattle.
